Outdoor relaxation...

The porches at Breeden Inn are true Southern, with rockers, swings, ceiling fans, a vintage glider, container plantings, and a long piece of the Inns history… a joggling board.  Hourly church bells during daylight chime heavenly seasonal appropriate tunes from French Schulmerich electronic  bell carillons. Click here for more porch info and pictures!

Plan to de-stress

Brick and gravel walks lead to the Inn's in-ground swimming pool in a private setting of trees, plantings and quaint outbuildings, original to The Main House. A lovely, peaceful place is the best description of this area of the grounds.  Several seating areas surround the pool. Swim, sun, or just relax. The only noise you will hear are the songbirds. Chaise lounges are placed in both sun and shade.  The pool is open from dawn to dusk, typically from April – September. Flowering Spring, Summer and Fall aquatic plant life thrives in a period Koi pond located behind the pool.  Another pond sides the pool for whimsy.  Here you can relax, observe the fish and are welcome to feed them. A calming woodland garden is located behind Retreat on Main, as well as both cottages.  Winding gravel & brick walks connect the houses.  Benches and paired seatings are found throughout this serene garden area.  A prayer walk provides a resting bench for quiet time in a quiet place.  In the center of the woodland garden, a shaded circular picnic area views a lovely fountain.  Many varieties of trees and plantings, including a period camellia garden are along the walk.     Click here for more garden info and pictures!

Games:  Game tables and boards can be found in each house.
The Main House has a chess table, a period checker table and both vintage Chinese checkers and Monopoly sets.  Collector’s Edition Scrabble and for a blast of fun – Apples to Apples are popular games guests play. Card and croquet sets are available for the asking.
Retreat on Main has a chess board and croquet.  Croquet can be enjoyed on the front lawn either there or at The Main House (front or rear grounds).
The Carriage House has a game table in The Gathering Room for chess or checkers.  Scrabble, puzzles and cards can also be enjoyed.
The Garden Cottage has a checker/chess board at one of the kitchen tables.
Guests are welcome to play on the porches and in the pool and woodland areas.

Indoor  relaxation...

The Main House has five common areas for guests to relax:
THE MUSIC PARLOR:  The Victorians surrounded themselves with meaningful favorites. The Music Parlor is Victorian.  Furnishings and decorative pieces reflect the era in which the house was built.  A family piano is in the Music Parlor.  The Music Parlor...where musical guests are invited to share their talents...anytime. See “Special Packages” for scheduled local performing art events held at The Marlboro Civic Center, located within walking distance from the Inn.  Click here for more info and pictures!

THE DOWNSTAIRS CENTER HALL:  In the heart of this central hall guests enjoy relaxing with a cup of coffee prior to breakfast, reading the morning papers, chatting with others and lounging in the evening. Click here for more info and pictures!

LIBRARY PARLOR:  Where breakfast is served, books await the reader, meetings are held and guests enjoy a challenging game of chess. Click here for more info and pictures!

BREAKFAST PARLOR: This sunny breakfast and lounging room has a beautiful Venetian chandelier brought back from Italy by Bonnie’s sister, then gifted to her.  Framed French tapestries reflect the colors in the room.  A picture of Bonnie’s  great grandfather hangs on the wall. One of Tarpon Springs, Florida’s earliest settlers, he was known as “the Daddy of Pinellas County and the father of good roads.”  For history buffs, the story about his life, Once Upon A Bayou, The Life & Legacy of Tarpon Springs Pioneer, G.E. Noblit, Sr. is in the Inns library.  Click here for more info and pictures!

THE MAIN HOUSE DINING ROOM: In addition to enjoying breakfast in this very English room for dining, corporate and group meetings for up to thirteen can be arranged for guests staying at the Inn.  Click here for more info and photos!

UPSTAIRS CENTER HALL: Located just outside both Main House guest rooms.  This area for relaxation has a TV, sofas and a hospitality area with self-serve coffee/teas, packaged snacks, a microwave and a stocked fridge.  Click here for more info and pictures!
